Our unique, module online yoga teacher training program gives you the flexibility to complete the course in your own time, as well as substantial actual contact hours with our Lead trainer Shiva Rishi with a team of 5 specialist teachers.

Upon successful completion you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 (Please note you must complete by the deadline set by Yoga Alliance through their online COVID provision. This deadline is currently set for December 31, 2021. Shiva Rishi Yoga Institute offers a 200 hour TTC online course and 200hr and 300hr in-person Yoga Teacher Training Programs in Varkala, Kerala, South India

The 200 Hour Therapeutic Elements Yoga Teacher Training includes vinyasa flow, bio-mechanically sound alignment principles, and the path of Yoga as a framework for Holistic Health. This program offers students in-depth skills to explore Yoga as a vehicle for vibrant health, self-transformation, and personal empowerment. Our curriculum includes a unique blend of alignment-based vinyasa flow, a solid foundation in Hatha Yoga, and 200 hours of instruction offered within a holistic wellness framework. We provide a TTC guidebook that compliments the material. The instruction will cover a wide range of yoga techniques including yoga postures, pranayama, mantras, yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment, Ayurveda, various yoga traditions, and more. This training marries the scientific and the spiritual. You’ll graduate with a comprehensive understanding of body, mind, and spirit, within the yoga tradition.

Controlled breath ignites physical, mental and spiritual transformation. Control of the breath leads to meditation. Pranayama and meditation calms the mind, and allows one to transform limiting tendencies into life affirming thought patterns. Meditation in yoga is paramount on the journey to self-discovery.

Asanas help prepare the body for sitting and deep-contemplation. The asana emphasis in this program includes both level one/two alignment based vinyasa flow sequencing, ashtanga techniques, as well as gentler and restorative variations. The application of clear principles of alignment create safety, balance, and freedom in yoga poses. Rather than offer standard sequencing or rigid methodologies, students are exposed to frameworks that inspire each trainee to adapt the practices, awaken their creativity, and find their own authentic voice as a teacher.

Additionally, in the program, students explore concepts from Ayurveda, the Upanishads, Patanjali, the Nadis, and the Chakra System, as frameworks for the application of yoga as a journey towards radiant health and well-being. We aspire to share the traditional knowledge of yoga with students, to help practitioners along their path of self-discovery, so students can in turn help others. As part of the Shiva Rishi growing community, Graduates of this program feel empowered to teach a variety of yoga class types, including: all levels of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, Mysore-style Ashtanga, alignment-based classes, yoga foundations, senior, gentle, and restorative.
